Curriculum Vitae

Lesley Williams studied Textile Design at Nottingham Trent University and later gained an M.A. in Fine Art from Leeds Metropolitan University.

Her practice is concerned with the translation of the juxtaposed, translucent qualities of the colours found in Gardens. She engages the viewer into looking through and beyond the immediate surface.

Vivid colour suggests excitement and joy. There is spontaneity in mark making, accompanied by ideas of fragility and scale. These ideas are presented in semi-abstract paintings and drawings.
